Description of Allen-Bradley 2094-PRS4 AC Drive

The 2094-PRS4 slim power rail from Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation is a Kinetix 6000 series slim power rail with 4 axes. It is compatible with 230 Volts rated Kinetix systems and with 460 Volts rated Kinetix systems. The 2094-PRS4 4-axis slim power rail supports 1 to 3 regular axis modules and 1 integrated axis module. This power rail can also support shunt modules and it needs slot filler modules to cover axis slots that are not being used. The 2094-PRS4 4-axis slim power rail can operate at 32 to 122 degrees Fahrenheit.

The Allen-Bradley Bulletin 2094-PRS4 is part of a family of slim power rails and it has slots for converter and inverter drive modules. It is compatible with either 230 Volts or 460 Volts drive systems. This part has four inverter slots (axes) which a drive module can mount on. Out of these four slots, three at most are allocated for integrated axis modules (IAM) and the remaining one can accommodate adjacent axis (AM), shunt, or slot-filler inverter modules. The modules from the Kinetix 6000, Kinetix 6500, Kinetix 6000M and Kinetix 6200 family of drives can fit onto any 2094 power rail. The 2094-PRSx category of slim power rails fits well with any class of 200V and 400V drive modules.

Installing the 2094-PRS4 is done by mounting a 200 Volts class or 400 Volts class IAM module onto up to three out of the four inverter slots by screwing M6 metric bolts onto a cabinet. Before mounting, an enclosure should have space for the power rail and the user should know the dimensions of the mounting slot. By applying a torque of 45.0 pounds on an inch, the user can fasten a bolt that holds the subpanel and the power rail. Installation is complete when the user attaches the bonded cabinet ground to the braided grounding strap. The 2094-PRS4’s fourth slot is exclusively for a converter IAM module. Hence, shunt, IPIM, and AM modules have an allocation for inverter slots only and cannot use the converter slot.

If a 200 Volts class IAM module is used, it will take up two inverter slots and one converter slot. The 400 Volts class IAM modules also take up two inverter slots and a converter slot. The AM modules take up two inverter slots; it is not possible to install them together with the double-wide IAM modules on a 2094-PRS4 power rail. The single-wide IAM modules need double slots because they are automatically allocated a converter slot but also need an inverter slot. All the single-wide AM modules need a single inverter slot. The power rail relays control signals and power from the IAM converter module to the neighboring shunt, slot-filler and AM inverter modules. The 2094-PRS4 power rail measures 13.70 by 10.50 inches and weighs 5.9 pounds.
