V400 & V400D Verabar Pitot Tubes

This sensor can be inserted and removed under pressure. It has been flanged components and is available in single or double rod units. Also in the model V400D, the sensor is similar to the V400 sensor but is designed for larger pipe sizes and higher velocities.

Advantages / Disadvantages

Advantages:

• Simple devices with no moving parts
• Performance is well understood
• Less expensive compared to other flow technologies
• Installation can be in any orientation
• Can be used for most gases and liquids
• Maintenance is much like pressure transmitters

Disadvantages:

• Significant pressure loss may occur
• Turndown less than other flow technologies
• Pipe layout may affect accuracy
• The output signal is non-linear
• Aging effects
